2015 SMUHA Jarl's Squad Day
The 2015 SMUHA Jarl's Squad day began with the muster and breakfast at Bigton Hall in the early hours. Helen Budge then proceeded make the [story rich] introductory speeches for the squad. After breakfast the squad visited the Anderson High School ASN Departmant in Lerwick and the Sound Primary School in Lerwick. From there they visited the Cunningsburgh Primary School and the Sandwick Junior High School followed by a march through Bigton to the shop where the Bill was on display.

The squad then went to the Sumburgh Hotel for official Galley photos followed by lunch at the hotel. They then joined the Dunrossness School bairns, staff and visitors for the School Up Helly Aa procession and galley burning. Jarl Emily Black led the School Jarl's Squad, guizers and assembled folk for a procession from the school along the main road to the Boddam sports pitch where the School galley was burnt. This was followed by a visit to the Overtonlea Care Home at Levenwick and a rest period at Levenwick Hall until the evening procession.

At the Schools, Halls, and Overtonlea Care Centre the Jarl's Squad sang the Up Helly Aa Song and the Jarl Lesley Simpson presented a 2015 SMUHA plaque to thank them for their hospitality and to commemorate the event.
